The Agricultural course covers Animal Husbandry, Crop Husbandry and Farm Management. The full course covers 30 subjects and 350 lectures and was written specially for the conditions prevailing in Central and Southern Africa.
The course is based on the highly regarded and internationally recognised Gwebi and Chibero Agricultural College courses and was developed, written and edited by Mr Peter Chard, former Vice-Principal of Gwebi Agricultural College in Zimbabwe.
The NOSA Agri Agricultural course has been developed as a broad-based modular agriculture course, covering a wide variety of relevant topics and combining theoretical knowledge with practical training and integrated financial management principles.
Food security – The African solution
Food security is becoming an increasingly serious global issue, caused mainly by increasing populations, ongoing climatic uncertainty, and the diminishing availability of productive agricultural land in first world countries. The bottom line remains that for African agriculture to undergo a radical improvement, in line with the volume of money available for investment, the skills levels of the small farmers need to be uplifted at grass roots level, in order to increase their individual and collective productivity.
NOSA Agri is ideally positioned to play a prominent role in this crucial education and training process and intends to become the forerunner in agricultural training and information provision throughout Africa. We at NOSA Agri firmly believe that the only people who are able to drive the resurgence of sustainable African agriculture are us Africans. This will require the transfer of contemporary information and technology from the learned to the learners, using all means available.Agriculture is positioned as one of the highlighted sectors on our continent, as research shows that 60% of the world’s uncultivated arable land is lying unused in Africa.
